Framework conditions
Goals of the OGS
- A structured daily routine with a hot lunch
- Social learning in joint action
- Leisure activities together
- Fun and games with creative and sporting activities
- Homework assistance
- Individual support of the children taking into account different talents
- Networking of school and care
Lunch
- The open all-day program offers students a hot meal 5 days a week. Drinks are available to the children at all times.
- Lunch is delivered and possibly prepared by the Beer butcher's shop. The providers take care to offer a varied and healthy range. Any special requirements (e.g. allergies, no pork, etc.) are of course taken into account.
- As part of the pedagogical support, the staff teach good table manners and ensure a pleasant eating situation.
- The costs will be debited by the Diakonisches Werk. Contact person is Mrs. Nijboer (Tel. No.: 02551-144-57).
Free time
- The joint organization of leisure activities is an integral part of the open all-day program. The children have the opportunity to contribute their own interests, to get to know new leisure activities, to create and consolidate contact with classmates and play partners, and to discover and develop their own strengths.
- The planned activities are carried out within the framework of AGs or fixed activities related to the days of the week and are led either by OGS staff or by external forces. Examples include art clubs, sports sessions, and hero school.
- As part of the free play program, the children can pursue their interests daily in the school grounds or in the rooms of the facility during the designated times (before and after lunch and after homework). Here, too, the staff pay attention to the promotion of social interaction and the discovery of new interests.
- In order for the children to be able to participate in and engage with these offerings, the OGS stipulates that, if possible, children are not picked up from the Open All-Day before 3:00 pm. Only in this way can the child develop as a reliable play partner for his or her classmates.
Homework
- Homework help at school is a government-sponsored group program. Special requests such as individual supervision and tutoring cannot be provided.
- Homework is done daily, 4 days a week, in fixed groups with fixed contact persons.
- The children should be enabled to do their homework independently and carefully.
- The children are responsible for their homework. The teachers and educators accompany and support the children.
- The team of the open all-day program creates organizational conditions. This includes the room concept and the times as well as the permanent contact persons. They ensure a pleasant working atmosphere, good lighting conditions, fixed workstations and fresh air.
