On Thursday, May 21, our annual national youth games took place in perfect weather. In the morning, all the children met at the school and made their way on foot to the sports facility at Wolbertshof. Once there, the parent helpers and children were briefed before a joint dance warm-up ensured a good atmosphere and the necessary exercise.
The sporting competitions then began. In the disciplines 800-meter run, sprint, impact throw and long jump, the children were able to demonstrate their skills and fight their way up the rankings for the certificates.
The pupils from the first and second years started off. Towards the middle of the sports festival, the third and fourth graders switched so that all children had enough time at the various stations.
While half of the children completed the sports stations, the other half were able to try their hand at a variety of games such as juggling, can throwing and sack races.
Many thanks to the town of Gronau and Vorwärts Epe for providing the sports facility. We would also like to thank all the parent helpers for their active support and supervision of the games and sports stations.
We can look back on a successful and sporty day and are already looking forward to next year's Bundesjugendspiele!
