Hermann-Löns European School on tour on European School Day

This school year, the 9 classes in Years 1 - 4 at Hermann-Löns-Schule are once again using the School Europatag for many activities inside and outside the school building.

The three Year 1 classes set off for Glanerbrug on Wednesday, accompanied by their teachers and some parents. The train journey alone was a special experience for the children. In small groups, they went shopping for a typical Dutch breakfast. The teachers had previously prepared the children in class for the shopping trip so that they could successfully put hagelslag (crumble), vlaa (pudding) and ontbijtkoek (breakfast cake) on the breakfast table.

Classes 2a and 2b are going to the Biological Station in Zwillbrock next week to learn about flamingos and their way of life here in the only flamingo colony in Central Europe.

The two Year 3 classes stayed at the school to work enthusiastically in two teams to solve a quiz about Europe. The quiz was about the individual countries, their capitals, mountains and sights.

The two classes in Year 4 will take part in the "Broer" participatory concert by the "Phion" orchestra in Enschede in June. They are already busy singing, dancing and practising Dutch in class.
